Philippine Airlines made history as it successfully landed the first ever flight from Seoul, South Korea to Puerto Princesa, Palawan on June 23 and started its flight back to Seoul on June 24, 2018.

The local flag carrier started its flights with its Airbus A321 which estimates 6,000 visitors from Seoul monthly to the world’s most beautiful island.

A Facebook post by Mic Aleacim shows the welcome watergun salute of the first maiden flight of Philippine Airlines A321 arrival at the Puerto Princesa International Airport from Incheon.

Since the temporary closure of Boracay, tourists especially from South Korea have been looking at other options to enjoy the tropical weather in the country.

Other prime destinations that are being visited frequently by the Koreans are Cebu and Clark which have direct flights to and from Incheon International Airport, and Bohol which is the next tourist destination that they usually visit after Cebu.

Another estimated 800 passengers are expected to arrive from Busan’s Gimhae International Airport every week starting its maiden flight on July 26, 2018.
