The Philippines' education system is one of the most challenged in South East Asia. Lack of technology, poor internet signal, and access to quality training and education are some of the identified challenges of some schools especially schools in far-flung areas and isolated islands. To address this, the Department of Education (DepEd) has implemented the Last Mile Schools Program which aims to address the gaps in resources and facilities of schools that are located in geographically isolated and disadvantaged, and conflict-affected areas (GIDCA).
